Fana'Briques 2006 took place on 01./02.July 2006 in Rosheim (Alsace).
The exhibition was mainly performed by  members of the French and of the Belgian LEGO Users Groups, FreeLUG and BeLUG.
There was a GBC train with  five modules created by  Jean-Marc "Joubarc" Nimal from BeLUG who hinted me to that event and even helped me in joining it with my first-ever GBC module, Vorrichtung Nr.1 - thanks again, Jean-Marc! :-)
It has to be said that it instantly messed up his prodigious GBC train (sad to say, my module was even farther from perfection than I fancied before, GBC newbie that I am)...
Yet, with Jean-Marc's advice and help we eventually were able to change it to some more or less reasonable state of working integration. After all, I've learned something about the difference between testing your GBC module at home and integrating it with until then unknown modules of other builders.

Enjoy the impressions below!

ps A particular coincidence was that the Tour de France hit Rosheim the same day I was there - we could even see the  peloton racing through the town from BeLUG's booth in the hall!
I'm still regretting the fact that I forgot to shoot an image of the 3-meters-sized bike made completely of LEGO bricks (!) that had been set up at the border of the Tour's course.

A terrible disaster
A terrible train accident with heaps of casualties took place only meters away!

(which might be a little outre, but decidedly is quite entertaining - note the onlookers on the bikes).
